ANNOUNCEMENT!
We are currently unable to provide trail rides. What we had hoped to open up in 2024 is going to have to wait until 2025. Trails take a long time to clean up and finish for the safety of you and your animals, so please bear with us. If you would like to come help us clear and cut, reach out to us!
Horses Healing Heroes
On April 4th, 2024 we were able to apply for the 501c3 and truly get our Equine Therapy for Veterans/First Responders venture off the ground. I am happy to report that we were approved for the name Horses Healing Heroes. Be on the lookout for events to come as we organize and fundraise!
Barn Progress!!!
We here at Two Angel's are happy to announce because of donors like you, we were able to start the process of building our barn! The wood for the outside is coming directly from the farm! Our logger, Donnie Meadors, has a sawmill, and has negotiated a price to cut the tulip poplar and make boards to complete the outside. The frame and roof was purchased with donated funds and some money directly from our pocket. With the Poker Run coming up, we are hoping to raise enough funds to complete the barn and apply for our 501c3 Non Profit status!
College Days
University of the Cumberlands
In October, the farm was invited to the University as part of their Kentucky week for the students on campus. Kerstin completed a "Join Up" demonstration using Bullet. John, Stephanie, and Kerstin answered many questions from the students and gained a few that would like to volunteer in the future! We look forward to a future relationship with the College and appreciate them thinking of us enough to invite us down! It was the first public appearance for the horses and they were certainly perfect!
New Faces
At the beginning of November the farm obtained a rescued Draft Mule by the name of Ernie. Ernie is around 20 years old and was previously used in a therapy program. He had some health issues come up and was rescued and given to the farm. After adjusting his food, taking care of his teeth, and a round of antibiotics, he is doing well and gaining weight like he should. We look forward for Ernie to join our riding lesson program as well as help our soldiers/first responders to learn about the difference in horses and mules.
On July 4th as promised, we drew the name of a local man from London, KY as the winner of the 04 Harley the farm raffled. Gil was over the moon excited and looks forward to joining us on the farm and helping out!
Congratulations
Gil!!!
Special Thanks to Wildcat Harley in London for allowing us to present Gil with his motorcycle there!
